The rescue station is a place for wild animals to get a second chance in life.
Most of the time, these animals have been victim to some form of accident related to human activity: birds who have flown through power lines, crashed into windows, or have been hit by cars.
Deer, wolf and bear populations have also been seriously affected by the acts of hunters.
The existence of a place like this starts to make sense once we understand the extent of damage humanity has caused in efforts to expand human comfort. In order to confront and deal with the consequences of our own progress, we should understand the need to repair the damage that has been caused. As a society it is crucial to work and repair what we have destroyed.
Those who work at the rescue station, tirelessly give their whole lives to maintain the facility.
It is hard work that is full of patience, bravery, and dedication.
This has been one year of work and connection to this place. Its animals are a source of knowledge about life and death, pain and recovery, and satisfaction and freedom.
